This is our favorite time of the year here in Wisconsin; the fall season means that all our beloved sports teams are back in action, and stepping outside welcomes us to beautiful sights as far as the eye can see. It’s always awesome to step back and see the different colors that trees give us during fall, and we want to help you find the best time to head out for the forest.
If you’re wondering “When will the leaves start changing color for Fall 2019 in Janesville WI?” we’ve got your answer today, as well as a quick lesson on how this happens. Check it out today with Janesville VW!
Why does tree foliage change color during fall?
Put simply, it takes a lot of energy for trees to keep leaves alive when the weather starts to get colder, and the deeper, richer colors that you see is the result of shorter days and lower temperatures. When this happens, leaves don’t have the same food-making process that they’re used to, so chlorophyll breaks down to keep them alive. Shades of orange, red and yellow are deep inside every tree leaf, and they only come out before the end of the season.
