The first thing you’ll notice on the 2022 VW Tiguan is its slightly redesigned exterior which now features a revamped front end with new sharper-looking LED lights. The grille and headlights are a little stretched and look wider than the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan and more in line with the bigger 2021 VW Atlas and the 2021 Atlas Cross Sport. The grille also flaunts a new LED light strip in the middle on higher trims, giving the Tiguan a bit of a visual character at night. The rear gets LED taillights as standard and the “Tiguan” lettering behind, now sits in the middle below the VW logo.

The new Tiguan also brings four new alloy wheel designs and updated R-Line optional elements including unique R-Line lower bumpers with wider intakes. You also get two new interior color options: Cinnamon leatherette and Noisette leather.

The 2022 Tiguan also gets heated front seats as standard on all trims, including the base trim. Plus, you can opt for a panoramic sunroof, Fender premium audio system, and a 15-color ambient lighting system.

Most importantly, the Volkswagen IQ.DRIVE® suite of intelligent safety and drivers assistance technologies is now standard on all but the base trim level. The suite includes safety technologies such as Blind Spot Monitor, Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear Traffic Alert, Lane Assist, and Forward Collision Warning with Pedestrian Monitoring. You can opt for other systems like Park Distance Control with Maneuver Braking, high beam control, and Dynamic Road Sign Recognition.
